Due to an event, the State Hall will not open until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Reading rooms

The reading rooms on Heldenplatz and the reading rooms of the collections are closed on public holidays. This also applies to Sunday, June 8, and Monday, June 9 (Pentecost), as well as Thursday, June 19 (Corpus Christi).

Regular opening hours apply in the museums; in addition, all museums are open on Whit Monday.

Papyrus Museum

The Papyrus Museum is only open from 12 noon on 11 June. 

Nilus: Studien zur Kultur Ägyptens und des Vorderen Orients

The annual special exhibition in the Papyrus Museum is accompanied by an extensive catalogue.

The catalogue is available at our service desk and published by Phoibos Verlag in the series "Nilus: Studien zur Kultur Ägyptens und des Vorderen Orients“.

The Corpus Papyrorum Raineri (CPR) series is one of the oldest series in the field of papyrology. In this series, the extensive holdings of the papyrus collection are continuously edited and supplemented with translations, critical apparatus and detailed comments.
